The Lodge

Updated: Nov 28, 2019

Food: BBQ! Nothing like a backyard barbecue set in a ski lodge in the middle of Ft. Myers, Florida! Smoked combos, burgers, skillets, and specialty sauces from around the country like: Kentucky Honey BBQ, Texas Moppin' Sauce, Memphis Bourbon, Alabama White, and Carolina Gold BBQ.

Drinks: Full bar, but what's really cool is The Lodge has a self-tap wall. 12 craft beer taps line the wall that you pour yourself and pay per ounce. It's a really cool idea, and also really smart so you can have less of a specific beer, or more if desired instead of just order the typical pint size. I liked trying 2 different beers out and just trying half pours of each!

Decor: Ever be in the middle of Florida wishing you were at a ski lodge in the Colorado Rockies??? Well that's what this place is and it's AMAZING. You leave the hot streets of Downtown Ft. Myers and enter into a authentic ski lodge complete with wooden stoves, taxidermy animals, full walls of projected ski slops and snowy mountains, televisions displaying skiing and snowboarding, and a ski lift with fake people that continually goes back and forth on the side of the restaurant. This place is not to be missed.

My fav: I love a theme restaurant, but sometimes when a restaurant is so specific to their theme, the food falls short of being up to par. This is not the case here. The BBQ is so delicious that you truly are transported to the Colorado Rockies. I loved the Pulled Pork Sandwich with the Texas Moppin' Sauce and a side of mac and cheese. I also used the self tap wall to pour myself a beer as I sat in the middle of the booth watching the snowy mountains and the ski lift transport the fake people back and forth throughout the meal. This restaurant is unlike anything else I have ever experienced and I can't talk highly enough about it.
